The Madurai Legal Awareness Coordination Committee, in collaboration with Vazhikatti Maiyam, Trichy, organised a job fair on May 17, 2025, at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Madurai. Kayalziahi from Subramaniyapuram, Madurai, participated in the fair. She said, “In the first session, the organisers spoke about the purpose of the fair. I was motivated, and the session helped me to get out of fear and shyness.

From 9 companies, promoters had come. Each one shared about their company profile and the type of youth they were looking for to be absorbed by their company. Unfortunately, all the companies were outside of Madurai, but in Tamil Nadu. I was a bit hesitant as I do not feel comfortable working outside Madurai. I was looking for companies from Madurai.”

Another participant, Velmunis from Madurai, expressed, “It was heartening to see several female participants. I participated in the interviews for 3 companies. All had job opportunities either in Chennai or Hosur. Initially, I was hesitant. But, in the end, I made up my mind and agreed to join anywhere. This change did not happen automatically. The company people encouraged and motivated me. After this experience, I feel that I have grown in self-confidence. I will participate in future job fairs until I find a job”.

மதுரை சட்ட விழிப்புணர்வு ஒருங்கிணைப்புக் குழு, திருச்சி வழிகாட்டி மையத்துடன் இணைந்து, மே 17, 2025 அன்று மதுரை செயின்ட் மேரிஸ் மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி வளாகத்தில் வேலை வாய்ப்பு முகாமினை ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தது. இம்முகாமில் பங்கேற்ற மதுரை சுப்பிரமணியபுரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கயல்விழி, ‘வேலை வாய்ப்பு முகாமின் முதல் அமர்வே முகாமின் நோக்கம் குறித்து இருந்தது. இந்த அமர்வானது எனக்குள் இருந்த பயத்தை போக்கி நேர்காணலில் தைரியமாக பங்கேற்கும் தன்னம்பிக்கையை தந்தது. 9 நிறுவனங்களிலிருந்து அதன் பொறுப்பாளர்கள் வந்திருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்களின் நிறுவனத்தை பற்றியும், நிறுவனத்திற்கு தேவையான பணியாளர்களின் தகுதி பற்றி எடுத்துக்கூறினர். துரதிஷ்டமான விஷயம் என்னவென்றால் அதிகமான நிறுவனங்கள் வெளியூர்களில் இருந்து தான் வந்திருந்தார்கள். வெளியூர் சென்று வேலை செய்வதற்கு தயக்கமாக இருந்தது. நான் மதுரையைச் சேர்ந்த நிறுவன நேர்காணலில் மட்டும் பங்கேற்றேன்’ என்று தனது அனுபவத்தை பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.

மற்றொரு பங்கேற்பாளராக மதுரையைச் சேர்ந்த வேல்முனிஸ், ‘இம்முகாமில் அதிகமான பெண் பங்கேற்பாளர்களைப் பர்த்தது மகிழ்ச்சியளிக்கிறது. நான் 3 நிறுவனங்களின் நேர்காணலில் பங்கேற்றேன். மூன்று நிறுவனங்களும் தங்களின் பணி பற்றி எடுத்துக்கூறினார்கள். சென்னை, ஓசூர் போன்ற வெளியூர்களில் தான் வேலை என்று சொன்னார்கள். முதலில் வெளியூர் சென்ற வேலை பார்ப்பதற்கு தயக்கமாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் இறுதியில் நான் எந்த ஊராக இருந்தாலும் வேலையில் சேர ஒப்புக் கொண்டேன். எனக்குள் ஏற்பட்ட இந்த மாற்றம் தானாக நடக்கவில்லை. நிறுவன பொறுப்பாளர்களின் ஊக்கப்படுத்தலினால் நடந்தது. இந்த அனுபவத்திற்குப் பிறகு, நான் தன்னம்பிக்கையில் வளர்ந்திப்பதாக உணர்கிறேன். எனக்கு வேலை கிடைக்கும் வரை இதுபோன்ற முகாம்களில் பங்கேற்பேன்’ என்று கூறினார்.
