“I am a trainer at IDEAS, and I work on the violence against women component. I organise workshops for women in collaboration with NGO partners, file cases on behalf of battered women, go to villages and organise awareness camps. I participated in the Ignatius feast celebration, organised by IDEAS. It was an hour-long event, celebrating collaboration and cherishing collective energy in social change process.

I was impressed by the sharing of various movement leaders. The testimony of these leaders motivated me. One of the leaders, Mr. Selvam of Adi Tamizhar Peravai, mentioned that about 15 years ago he entered IDEAS as a participant in a training session. He continued to participate in various workshops conducted at IDEAS. Now he is a known mass leader. I know Mr. Selvam as a leader but did not know that he was moulded by IDEAS. I am hopeful that one day I will become a publicly acknowledged woman leader. When I listened to testimonies of various people, I realised my responsibility as a trainer. It stuck me that through various training sessions, I am preparing future leaders. I felt that I need to update myself and make the training sessions innovative and highly beneficial. I felt proud to be a staff at IDEAS, a credible organisation and my love for the organisation increased”, Adv. Saira Bhanu, staff at IDEAS.

On 29 July, IDEAS celebrated the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola along with staff, leaders from civil society organisations and movements, friends, and Jesuits from the neighbouring communities. About 75 persons participated. After a brief sharing on the charism of the Society of Jesus, highlighting the current mandate of working on Reconciliation and Justice, 7 staff members of IDEAS shared what they are doing for the well-being and development of manual scavengers, responding to violence against women, networking of Dalit women, unionising women workers, training on strengthening the capacities of civil society actors, knowledge dissemination through documentation service, and human development of Kal Otars. This was followed by spontaneous testimonies of the participants. Almost everyone in unison expressed their gratitude and sentiments, “IDEAS changed my personal life story to work for vulnerable communities and I am proud of my association with IDEAS”.

இணைந்து கொண்டாடிய விழா

“நான் அய்டியாஸ் மையத்தில் பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான வன்முறை தடுப்பு வழிகாட்டுதல் குழுவில் பணியாளராகவும், பயிற்சியாளராகவும் இருக்கிறேன். தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனங்களுடன் இணைந்து பெண்களுக்கான பயிற்சிகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்வது, பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பெண்களுக்காக வழக்குகளை பதிவு செய்ய துணைநிற்பது, கிராமங்களுக்குச் சென்று சட்ட விழிப்புணர்வு முகாம்களை நடத்துவது போன்ற பணிகளை செய்து வருகிறேன். IDEAS மையம் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்த புனித இஞ்ஞாசியர் பிறப்பு விழா கொண்டாட்டத்தில் நான் பங்கேற்றேன். ஒரு மணி நேரத்திற்கு மேல் நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வு சமூக மாற்றுப் பணிகளில் ஈடுபட்டிருக்கும் பலருடைய கூட்டு செயல்பாட்டை போற்றும் விதமாக அமைந்திருந்தது.

இதில் பல்வேறு சமூக இயக்கத் தலைவர்களின் பகிர்வு என்னை மிகவும் ஈர்த்தது. இதில் கலந்து கொண்ட தலைவர்கள் அய்டியாஸ் மையத்தின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்த அனுபவங்களைப்பகிர்ந்து கொண்டது என்னை மிகவும்  ஊக்கப்படுத்தியது. இவ்விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டவர்களில் ஒருவரான ஆதித்தமிழர் பேரவையைச் சேர்ந்த தோழர் செல்வம் அவர்கள் சுமார் 15 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு முதல்முறையாக, அய்டியாஸ் மையத்தில் நடத்தப்பட்ட பயிற்சியில் கலந்து கொள்ள ஆரம்பித்ததாகவும், அதுமுதல் தொடர்ந்து அய்டியாஸ் மையம் நடத்திவரும் பல பயிற்சிகளில் பங்கேற்று வருவதாகவும் கூறினார். இன்றைக்கு அவர் பலருக்கும் தெரிந்த ஒரு இயக்கத் தலைவராக இருக்கிறார். தோழர் செல்வத்தை ஒரு இயக்கத் தலைவராகத் தான் எனக்கு தெரியும். ஆனால் அவரை தலைவராக உருவாக்கியதில் அய்டியாஸ் மையத்தின் பங்கு முக்கியமானது என்பது எனக்கு தெரியாது. அதை அறிந்தது முதல், நானும் ஒரு நாள் பொதுமக்கள் அங்கீகரிக்கும் ஒரு பெண் தலைவராக மாறுவேன் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதுபோன்ற பல்வேறு நபர்களின் பகிர்வுகளை கேட்டபோது, பயிற்சியாளராக எனது பொறுப்பை உணர்ந்தேன். நான் என்னைப் புதுப்பித்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும் மற்றும் பயிற்சி அமர்வுகளைப் புதுமையானதாகவும் மிகவும் பயனுள்ளதாகவும் மாற்ற வேண்டும் என்று உணர்ந்தேன். அடித்தட்டு மக்களின் நம்பிக்கைக்குரிய அமைப்பான அய்டியாஸ் நிறுவனத்தில் பணியாளராக இருப்பதில் நான் மிகவும் பெருமிதம் அடைகிறேன்;, மேலும் அந்த அமைப்பின் மீதான எனது மதிப்பு அதிகரித்துள்ளது

ஜூலை 29 அன்று, அய்டியாஸ் மையத்தில் புனித லெயோலா இஞ்ஞாசியர் விழாவை பணியாளர்கள், சிவில் சமூக குழுக்கள் மற்றும் தலித் இயக்கத் தலைவர்கள், நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் அருகில் உள்ள இயேசு சபையாளர்கள் ஆகியோர் இணைந்து கொண்டாடினர். இந்நிகழ்வில் சுமார் 75 பேர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். இயேசுசபையின் உயிர்ப்பண்பும், தற்போது இயேசுசபை உலக அளவில் ஒப்புரவு மற்றும் நீதிக்கான சிறப்புப் பணிகளைச் செய்து வருவது குறித்தும் சுருக்கமாக பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டது. அதன்பிறகு, பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான வன்முறை தடுப்பு குழு, கையால் மலம் அள்ளும் தொழில் ஒழிப்பு பணி, தமிழ்நாடு தலித் பெண்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு, அருந்ததியர் பெண் தொழிலாளர்களை தொழிற்சங்கமாக்குதல், குடிமைச் சமூக  செயற்பாட்டாளர்களின் திறன்களை வலுப்படுத்துதல், ஆவணச் சேவை மூலம் தகவல்களை பரப்புதல் மற்றும் கல் ஓட்டர் சமூக முன்னேற்றம் ஆகிய பணிகளைப் பற்றி 7 பணியாளர்கள் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டனர். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து பங்கேற்பாளர்களின் தனிப்பட்ட அனுபவங்களை அனைவரும் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டனர். பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் அனைவரும் தங்கள் உள்ளார்ந்த உணர்வுகளையும், நன்றிகளையும் ஒருமித்த வகையில் பின்வருமாறு வெளிப்படுத்தினர். “அய்டியாஸ் மையத்துடனான உறவு என்னை தங்களை பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்ள இயலாதவர்களுக்காக பணியாற்றத் தூண்டுகிறது. அய்டியாசுடனான எனது உறவு குறித்து நான் மிகவும் பெருமைப்படுகிறேன்”.
