I am Veeramani. I reside at Kondayampatti village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District. I have completed 6 years after joining Adi Tamizhar Democratic Workers’ Welfare Union. In 2019, a camp was organized by the union to register its members as unorganized workers and guide them to access various schemes. I was helped by the union officials to register my name as an electrician and received the welfare card provided by the Government.

On 23.05.2025, my marriage took place. As I have the welfare card, the union members told me that I am entitled to a marriage allowance of Rs 20,000 from the government. I submitted all documents to the Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and asked him to issue me a certificate stating that this is my first marriage, which is required to get the marriage allowance. The VAO refused to issue the certificate.

Then the union officials met the VAO and spoke to him. Later, the VAO agreed and registered my name to get the government assistance of Rs 20,000. On 25.07.2025, I received the marriage allowance of Rs 20,000. This was a big support in managing my marriage expenses. I thank the officials of the Union for guiding me and helping me. Now, I realise the importance of being part of the Unorganised Workers’ Union.

நான் வீரமணி. மதுரை மாவட்டம், வாடிப்பட்டி தாலுகா, கொண்டயம்பட்டி கிராமத்தில் வசித்து வருகிறேன். ஆதி தமிழர் ஜனநாயக தொழிலாளர் நல சங்கத்தில் உறுப்பினராக சேர்ந்து 6 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவடைந்துள்ளன. 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில், சங்கத்தால் அதன் உறுப்பினர்களை அமைப்புசாரா தொழிலாளர்களாகப் பதிவு செய்யவும், பல்வேறு திட்டங்களைப் பெற வழிகாட்டவும் ஒரு முகாம் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது. தொழிற்சங்க பணியாளர்கள் எனது பெயரை எலக்ட்ரீஷியனாகப் பதிவு செய்ய உதவினார்கள், மேலும் அரசாங்கத்தால் வழங்கப்படும்  நலவாரிய அட்டையும் பெற்று தந்தனர்.

23.05.2025 அன்று, எனது திருமணம் நடந்தது. என்னிடம் நலவாரிய அட்டை இருப்பதால், அரசிடமிருந்து ரூ.20,000 திருமண உதவித்தொகைக்கு விண்ணப்பம் செய்யலாம் என்று தொழிற்சங்க உறுப்பினர்கள் என்னிடம் கூறினர். அனைத்து ஆவணங்களையும் கிராம நிர்வாக அலுவலரிடம் (VAO) சமர்ப்பித்து, தி ருமண உதவித்தொகை பெற இது எனது முதல் திருமணம் என்று கூறும் சான்றிதழை வழங்குமாறு கேட்டேன். VAO சான்றிதழ் வழங்க மறுத்துவிட்டார்.

பின்னர் தொழிற்சங்க பணியாளர்கள் VAO-வை சந்தித்து அவரிடம் பேசினர். பின்னர், கிராம நிர்வாக அலுவலர் ஒப்புக்கொண்டு, அரசு உதவித் தொகை ரூ.20,000 பெற எனது பெயரைப் பதிவு செய்தார். 25.07.2025 அன்று, எனக்கு ரூ.20,000 திருமண உதவித்தொகை கிடைத்தது. இந்த தொகை எனது திருமணச் செலவுகளை சமாளிப்பதற்கு பெரும் உதவியாக இருந்தது. எனக்கு வழிகாட்டுதலும் உதவியும் அளித்ததற்காக சங்க பணியாளர்களுக்கு நன்றி கூறுகிறேன். இப்போது, ​​அமைப்புசாரா தொழிலாளர் சங்கத்தின் ஒரு உறுப்பினராக இருப்பதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை நான் உணர்கிறேன்.
